We are 160 people living here, and the mainly income are from fishing industry and handicraft.
Here you will find the world's northernmost birch forest and beautiful islands and reefs.  The famous bird island "Stappan" is situated close by. This is Europe's largest bird island in numbers of birds, the total of 2.3million. Here you can see birds like: Puffin, sea eagles, cormorant, guillemot, gannets, razorbill, seagull and m.m. This island can only be visited by boat.

Gjesvær is also known for its rich fishing area where you can catch fish like Cod, Halibut, Haddock and m.m.m.

Every spring the Sàmi people come with their reindeer, to stay here in the summertime.
